Pain Management for Dental Pain

Note that dental pain can often be well managed using only two over the counter medications, Advil and Acetominophen (Tylenol).

A good pain management regimen is to take 400 mg of Advil and then two hours later take  Acetomeinophen 2 regular strength (325 mg each) or one extra strength (500mg).  Two hours after that take the Advil again and then another two hours later take the Acetominophen. This means that they piggy back each other – as one is wearing off the other is approaching full effect. As both of these are available over the counter paying attention to dosing is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!! Too much Advil can damage the kidneys and too much Acetominaphen can kill the liver.
